Water trickling out of exhaust just below Cowling

Have twin 225's Yamaha's (2005) . When I start starboard engine water is coming out of exhaust. Port motor nothing. Can it be poppet valve or something with power head? ( Hope not) No hoeses are loose.
 
The exhaust port is mostly through the prop which you won't see. The hole just below the lower cowling is the bypass port. Some mist may be normal but steadier water flow can mean the poppet valve is stuck open or not fully closed. If the poppet is stuck open you may experience low speed over heating.

The starboard and port engines don't operate the same according to the original post. I think that is why he is concerned and I probably would be also.
 
Hey guys, my 2005 250’s did the same before I had exhaust kits replace do you think there is any correlation?
 
Good question and one I can't answer without seeing a cooling water diagram which so far I can't find. I know that the corrosion can lead to water going from the water jacket area into the dry exhaust channels. What I don't know is if the bypass dump flow goes straight to the bypass tube and port ot if it goes into the dry exhaust section.
 
The relief port is connected to a series of baffles that act as a muffler. There is an opening that allows some exhaust to flow into the dry exhaust. The whole thing is surrounded by a water jacket.

Except for condensation during a cold startup, you should not see water flowing out of the above water exhaust port. If you do, it's likely that you have the dreaded corrosion problem that has compromised the water jacket.

Bummer. Is the hole in the oil pan or actually up in the power head?
 
Power Head. Had exhausts done 5 years ago. Marina does all maintenance every year. Flush engines for 1/2 hour after each use. Motors have about 1100 hours on them first major issue. Other motor is fine
 
Sorry to hear this. I honestly believe after hearing so many stories regardless of the new exhaust kits done or not. Some of the motors we're just doomed from the beginning, why I have no idea but most got lucky, while some even after the exhaust kits we're done, we're just meant to fail. It's really crazy.
