Marlin transom cap

Call GW Customer Service, give them the length you need and they’ll sell it to you. Just did this and on my 265.

There are many on this that have decided to have the top of the transom glassed over and then some top with the plastic cap that GW is now using

I just replaced mine with 14g stainless, I had a machine shop to break it and it goes over the inside and out with top motor bolts on the inside and outside.
it was about 52" long 3 1/2" inside width and 4" and 4 1/2" hang over
cost about 75$

Check my thread I made replacing mine.

Cap is vinyl and can be ordered from Grady. That’s the small part though. Have it glassed over first.

I’m not sure glasses over is the answer. A lot of stress and small give movement at transom. I went with 5200 and filled in the gaps. Has some give and movement for the two pieces of hull to give and not be so rigid like a California sky scraper. Seems to be working great and caught my transom in time.

4200 for me, mine looked perfect when we took it off. There’s an Aluminum “plate” between two fiberglass sections on mine (265 Express) and we used longer SS screws and used a tap and die set up to secure them before dumping a tube of 4200 and spreading it everywhere E671B707-4573-4221-A832-044C299E16C3.jpeg
