Tournament 225
Hi, I have a 2005 225 Tournament. I am looking to replace the canvas on the bimini, but have no luck in finding an OE replacement. I tried Great Lakes they don't have that model. I tried RnR Marine, they had a listing for it on thier website but they have suspended sales until spring 2022, but there is no contact or ordering information? are they a real company or scam? Grady White does not have any information on who manufactured it originally, I was told their files have been purged? I tried my local GW dealer and they said they were swamped so maybe next year and $4,000+. My local canvas guy is pretty expensive also but that may be my only option. He patched and re-stiched some of it 2 years ago, but it is deteriorating further. After market tops to not fit well. Any other advice?

There should be any number of canvas fabricators in your area. When I needed my cockpit enclosure redone I asked around at the local yacht club and got put in touch with a guy who did a great job. I would think canvas for a Bimini should be easier...??

Call around to local upholstery shops. I assume its sunbrella material, which most places/people work with.

Something isn't jiving here, Paul. Simply replacing the bimini top material is not going to be $4K. I think there's a miscommunication somewhere on that.

I'm not sure who originally made it - but try A&J Canvas or Great Lakes.

Locally should be a good way to go, though. I'm not sure what you mean by "pretty expensive" or what your expectations are, but get a few quotes. If you get lucky, you'll find a shop that can fit you in.

R-N-R - yeah, that's pretty typical right now with lead times. But try emailing them, just to check.

Dennis is right....my full enclosure was less than $2500.....a bimini replacement should not be 4K.

Depending where you're located there are a few shops I know of around us. I actually took a class as I wanted to replace the T op of my Grady. Hood Canvas, where I took the class, is out of Merrimack, MA. There are also places in Wareham and down the Cape. I have a 2004 Fishermann 222 and used Sunbrella Captain Navy for my top.

I have purchased stuff from A and J in the past would highly recommend them ..if I need canvas work I will be calling them .
