    COVID-19 228G Trailer & Adventure

I ordered a new Pacific Trailer for my Seafarer right before all the Covid calamity took hold. I put down a 50% deposit in early February, and was told the finish time would be mid April. Called the builder 2 weeks ago actually hoping they were shut down as I have more financial stress right now...

    HELP...Transom Swell - Express 360

If you can afford to purchase a 360, then a transom replacement isn't the end of the world if everything else is in good condition. You would certainly be able to sell it after the repair. It's like buying a used home, there always seems to be a compromise. Good luck with negotiating, Lee

    330 Express Horn - Suggestions?

Agreed, horn location is zero sum game. Not sure of the first owners history, but the second was using it as a family boat, which meant water skiing and enjoying flat-ish waters during the summers at Cape Cod. Stay healthy wrxhoon, and was great to see you taking your son out fishing for big...

Gel Coat Repair on corner of gas tank lid

Now Dennis, where is the fun in that?? Can't make life too easy these days :) I now must disclose I used some enamel paint yesterday on a couple gelcoat minor cracks and it did a good job of blending. Dabbed it on with a fine paintbrush, then wiped off surface with a rag. ;)

Gel Coat Repair on corner of gas tank lid

After you seal it to your comfort level, this gelcoat paste as mleads 310 said is easy to use and does not sag while you apply it. Think peanut butter consistency. Good luck! Lee

    2001 Gulfstream switch panel

I just worked on mine yesterday to get my dash lights working. The wires are labeled on yours?? I would think you just plug the wire that says "nav lights into the corresponding rocker switch. I had to play with which wire plugs into the correct switch for a bit, and then everything worked.

    Waxing temperature

I did some major sanding/compounding/buffing with 2 coats of wax to finish in 40-50 degree weather over the winter. I have no doubt warmer weather is helpful, but I ended up with great results, just not ideal working conditions...

Delaminated Bulkhead and Painted Trim Completed

Sure you could paint it. Better if you removed the bulkheads, but you could also tape the sections off. Use a good primer, (shellac based if you are painting over real teak), and suggesting an oil based enamel paint for the top coats. I used a 4" roller on the bulkheads, and sprayed the cabin door.

    How to repair this??

The only access to the bilge on Sirso 110's bilge is by removing the livewell. The rear floor hatch that was designed for an aux fuel tank and is closed off from the bilge if you remove it. Been there and done that. He's got it covered I would say. For the remaining water in the bilge I just...

    How to repair this??

I had the same thing happen on my 1887 228. You could use 5200, I wouldn't use marine tex for that application, but another option would be 2 part epoxy that mixes itself from a caulking gun. That would give you another 12" of reach down there, and set time is about 40 minutes. I used 5200...
