I'm about to buy a 2011 Freedom 275 if the survey checks out. I've heard a lot about things to watch out for with Gradys, such as wet transoms and stringers and sloppy wiring. (No insult to the brand - I know GW is a top tier builder and that's why I'm interested in buying one.) What survey...

There are too many boats in the world to own one that looks like that.

I'm sorry you had that experience. It must have been a very disappointing first day after committing to such a big investment. I would return the boat to the dealer for a thorough evaluation at their expense.

Thanks @wrxhoon! It is weird Grady doesn't put a single 350 performance test on the site when that (was? is?) the standard configuration.

Thinking about buying a used Freedom 275 with a single Yamaha F350. Will it be enough power? Will the boat pop up on plane, cruise at 30+, and top out at 45+? I remember that moving from a 225 to a 250 on my Pursuit 2470 made a difference. I would hate to buy a Grady and feel like it was...

@lyncha00 how did things work out with your boat? I'm also thinking of buying a 275 with a single F350 but would want a higher top end than 40 MPH.
