    First Grady White - 228

I mounted my Scotty sockets using the Scotty #2128 Marinco Electric Socket Right Angle Mount just inside the horizontal rod holder hole at the stern on each side. Hidden from view and direct water contact, no visible mounting holes, short cable run to batteries and keeps cord from downrigger...

Seafarer 22 under deck storage mod?

Love all the ideas. My concern has been and will continue to be making sure the fuel tank coffin boxes are water tight from above and proper drainage below. Many can tell you of the woes associated with saltwater damage to the fuel tanks and the anguish it caused.

    Stainless Cannon Downrigger Bases

Pretty! Sunglasses will be a necessity on your boat with all that bling. I’ve seen the sun breakdown those Lexan bases, no problem with those.

    2020 Yamaha F250 prop on 226

Dennis, thanks for your thoughts. I agree. I may attempt raising motor myself before considering prop change. Halfhitch, nice lesson. My understanding is clearer now. Vibration is not bad, nor is the shift clunk, but if it could be reduced, all the better. I’ll get a look at the linkage ASAP...

    2020 Yamaha F250 prop on 226

Last time out with the boat I got a good look at the anti-ventilation plate and it appeared just under the surface. I had asked the shop to raise my motor during the 20 hour service and they stated they were not comfortable raising motor and when measured against hull that it was perfect where...

    Eventful Day

Took the boat into the shop for the motor’s twenty hour service. Chose not to return to the local shop that installed motor for numerous reasons including the fast 1week turnaround and the estimate of five to seven hundred dollars. A small shop in Lodi (smaller farmish town) about 60 miles due...

Re power 2000 seafarer with 4 stroke

I also have a Yamaha T9.9 hanging on the transom (stern side). At rest, the waterline is just below the scupper but as I said it was the same before the swap and I understand it was that way since 2004 when the kicker was installed.

Re power 2000 seafarer with 4 stroke

1999. Same hull as yours. The F250 (4.2l) weighs the same as the F225, 551lbs. Not sure it’s 60lbs in fluids, but you will be freeing up the weight and space of the 2 stroke oil tank with swap.
