Just ordered thermostats and poppet valve assembly, hopefully be here Friday

It's been 2 seasons since replacing poppet valve and thermostat,, i will replace those this week would that cause it to over heat at idle but okay when under full power?

I'd go with the 228 but I might be prejudice. I've never been on a 208 but it sounds like between the two size matters. The 228 is a perfect trailer boat and it has ample room for what you want.

I'm sure my toe holds have stopped me from going over the side when fighting salmon in rough seas. Kinda like removing seatbelts from a car if you ask me.

I just found that out today, I went to west marine for my sticker they sell them in a 3 pack of 3 different signs and it says right on top for boats over 26' The officer asked me twice how long my boat was and then I saw her verify it on my registration. I guess she was wrong?

Got skunked! (water temp is still to low) But I got boarded by the coast guard, all was good with the inspection except I don't have a anti pollution sticker on my dash. She gave me a written warning, when I asked what it's for she said to remind me not to throw oil in the water.

Well I went Halibut fishing today in San Francisco bay and tried my steering rod and it works prefect.

Lol. I agree, Its working in the driveway, it's only got work thru this salmon season and with any luck I'll be able to find a motor upgrade in the next year or two. Trying to find a motor these days is like hitting the lotto.
