Bad run of braid?? Part of the reason I don't use braid for my style of fishing is because it's so hard to break. When I'm hung up, I need my line to break and not spool the reel.

Welcome to the forum. What dealer is doing installation? With your screen name, I guess your dealer is Seel's? Looking at the pics and video of the 215, the 12" will fit nicely in your dash. I have a 12" Simrad going flush mount on my 228 and the 12" is perfect size for my panel.

Check the bracket, may have water in it. The F225 is not a powerhouse by any means. It's adequate power for the 228. A 4 blade prop will help too.
