    Life Ring Buoy Mounts

also remember, its best practice to put your boats name on the life ring (as well as anything thats on your boat and will float)

    Life Ring Buoy Mounts

USCG Life Ring Regs when i bought my ring last year, i wasnt aware that it had to be orange. (the Chase is 26'11") so i fall in the 26-65 category. also need 60" of line on it ****edit - the above link is NOT applicable to recreational vessels****

    Looking for a 24-28ft Grady, Chase/Release center console model 24, 263 , 273 or 283 from 90s-mid 2000s

i would recommend going for 98 or newer due to the use of greenwood xl in the transom and stringers. better rot resistance. also, atleast for the chase, look for 2000 or newer as they have the full length running surface. not only does this give more floatation with heavier 4s motors, but...

    Leaking fuel tanks 306 Bimini

im going through this with my Chase. the previous owner replaced the tank with a backyard build. no cert sticker and some questionalble finishing touches. i found this out after finding fuel in the bilge and failing a pressure test. turns out this tank had a cracked weld. going with a...

    268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

where did you get the hdpe blocks and how did you secure them to the stringers such that they will hold the tank down with no movement in rough conditions?

Replacing the transom on a 26’7” Grady Express 2001

thats not a terrible price, especially given that you are doing it in miami. while in there, replace the deck drain hoses. its probably the best access you will ever have to them

the foam was put in when the PO replaced the tank with his backyard build. the grady spec tank wouldnt fit with the foam in. the flat part of the bilge is a false floor, water can run under it. also, it has a gap by the fore and aft bulk heads so condensation dripping from the tank can get...

yea, they really seem to know their stuff. the new tank will be 1/4" alluminium and have 7 internal baffles, i think the slight loss of volume is well worth the strength and performance. mentioned how they beef up the sender hole as well. they will also epoxy coat it.

    First boat

i live in south east PA and bought a boat in Tampa Bay, about 1000 miles. its doable, but not easy or preferred. i never saw the boat until i drove down to settle on it. I hired a local surveyor to go over the boat and a yamaha tech to look at the engines. if you choose to do this, make...

i spent saturday morning scraping out foam and taking measurements. im going to go with the Grady dimension tank. while in there, i was able to check/tap the stringers. they are in great shape. some pics below. btw, the blue foam board is a template i made of the grady spec tank cross...

    First boat

another vote for going a bit bigger. for a few reasons. -with 6 on board, you will be fine while everyone is sitting (if it is calm enough to use the front), but if people are moving or walking around, it will get crowded real fast, especially if you have a cooler and people bring a bag with...

Please make a Coastal Explorer in a 20 or 21 foot model

i understand that, but i was explaining the sentiment of the vast majority of boaters. most people dont use their boat the way you do. like i said, i appreciate the enclosed helm. i dream of a snowy boat ride with a warm drink and a little space heater. but that is not the majority.

Please make a Coastal Explorer in a 20 or 21 foot model

OP, the users on this forum do not build grady boats nor do we represent the factory. regarding CC/DC vs walkaround/express...the vast majority of boaters link boating to warm weather. enclosed helm is not needed. if you are trying to enjoy the outdoors, why be "indoors" on a boat. note, i...
