As far as power head failure, I don’t know if it can be checked without pulling it. I have 05 250’s, so when I had it surveyed both were scoped and needed replace, I just crossed my fingers that the power heads were good and they were both in great shape.

This is crazy!! Had the port engine exhaust kit replaced last week and the starboard looks good as new. Both original engines with the boat and both are 02/05’s. Just goes to show you never know!!

Sorry Doc, after reading the rest of your post I see you explained where they are, I was not familiar with those. At what time frame do you think they need to be replaced? I’m at 1500hrs.

I do the same thing as Harpoon, loading most of the time by myself I run it up the trailer leave the engines around 1000rpm slip under the bow rail, step on the spare tire and crank it in, it’s a goat rope. Well, I just pulled the lowers off. The starboard looks like new but the port looks like the surface of the moon. It’s crazy in the difference and both are Feb 05 and both have exactly 1523hrs.
