AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

Yup, found the 100 Amp fuse right where you said. In my defense it was hidden by all the cables and the guts of the person switch box. I took the switch box off and pulled the cable but it didn't move an iota. I stuck my head through the opening to see the fuse. After I got some of the putty...

AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

I took the starter off and bench tested it. Seems fine. Also put the continuity test on the little round fuse and the tester gave a solid tone. Traded emails with FP staff. Hopefully more info tomorrow.

AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

Yes, the 25A fuse blew on my first attempt to start. It was replaced. I also replaced the relays. I tested the relays and the old ones seem fine. However, on the back of the remote control panel I did find a fuse. I guess my eyes are worse than I knew, I only saw the fuse after blowing up...

AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

First, I replaced the fuel pump. Had I looked in the Panda parts kit I had a spare. I needed an extra anyway. I had to change out the fittings to 1/4". It is the less expensive pump. I've looked in and around the genset for some type of fuse that I've overlooked. I've had no luck, I can...

AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

Thanks for the replies, they have given me a better idea what to check prior to UPS delivering the new fuel pump.

AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

Thanks for the info. I'll look behind the panel to see if that is where they stashed the box. I was curious so I took the original pump apart. The metal that was the mounting brace would have been a perfect stainless application. They used soft steel. It was very corroded. After cutting...

AC Control Box for Fischer Panda Genset

I'm trying to run down an issue with my FP diesel genset. I'm looking to find where the AC control box was installed on a 2007 Marlin. I don't recall seeing it. I'd like to check the capacitors. My issue was starting a Genset after it sat so long while work was done on the boat. The panel...

External Fuel Pump Fischer Panda 4+

Posting on an old topic, but I'm replacing the same fuel pump. Thanks for following up with the GPH and pressure info. It makes life easier and will save a day in ordering on a Sunday night. Randy

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

Almost done with my panel. I'm waiting on a product to apply with an attempt to evade corrosion as long as possible. After I apply the spray I can install the plastic shield. I took some extra steps to better spray proof the box. I used some butyl tape on the outside and put new neoprene...

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

I had the aluminum plate powder coated. It turns out Pacific Stainless is a mile from my house and they do great powder coating. They put it with a large job today. Here is before and after. I still need to get lettering done.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

Not using tinned wire kinda gets me grumpy.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

I switched the open white plastic connection to a DEUTSCH type. It should last a long time. I'm switching from metal spacers on the plastic shield to threaded nylon. One less thing to corrode.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

Had some time to try out the little hydraulic press. It works OK, kinda fun doing the small steps. The only deadline I have is the Columbia River springer return (Chinook with lots of fat stored to make it all the way to Idaho).

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

This is my first time using copper connection bars. The inside of the bolt holes were shiny copper but the surface shows some green. Should I try to put some solder around the bolts holes to "tin" it? Or just wire brush it, install and spray with HD Corrosion X?

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

Had time to try and clean up the mounting face. Yuck. I can remove the black paint and repaint but the lettering would have me stumble. The Buss breakers cleaned up OK. I'm struggling to find 3 smaller breakers and fit them in the stock space. I'll go with the replacements and rebuild the...

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

Ordered the hydraulic crimper. I've been wanting one anyway for boat, truck and travel trailer. If you think boat wiring is bad, don't look at travel trailers.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

As an aside, one item I always check when I open up anything on the Marlin is the sealing applied to edge material. Here you can see that Grady sealed the edge grain of the plywood. After my transom I'm particularly sensitive to these issues.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

I'm going to replace some corroded breakers on the Marlin. I'm not sure why they are placed in the stern switch box but they seem to get the job done. I'll redo the weather stripping also as I think the raw water wash down gets spray inside. It is easy to remove the screws to tilt the...

    Electric Reel Outlets 305 Express

I did the easy install. Used Marinco 2 prong fixtures, drilled a hole in the plastic supports that hold the side rod holders. I used 4 30W circuit breakers near my batteries so I can turn off power. The breakers are mounted on epoxy sealed marine plywood affixed to the side. I find it a pain...

    Sharrow props

I'd try a pair IF they sponsored the test. No way can I afford those props. I also agree as above, my 4 blade props give me low speed bite and good handling.
