I would like to donate, but I'm computer-challenged to the max. Can you send me an address to mail a check to, and the name to make the check out to?

    Spring polishing and waxing

This may be more trouble than the different steps of cleaning I'm reading about here. I wax my 232 3-4 times a season with Turtle Wax Platinum Series and it looks great. My rig stays indoors while not in use, so that helps... I just would rather do it once a month or so and not have to do...

    232 Gulfstream trailering

Jim, where are you all gonna live, selling your houses North and South? I have thought long and hard about living in my old "homeland" (Onekama) but can't get past the long cold winters with no boating. Hope to rendevouz with you this summer. I'll call you on our vacation dates up there...

    232 Gulfstream trailering

Hey Jim; Yeah, we missed you at Portage last summer..You two gonna be up this year? Anyway, Jim is right, I have all my stuff packed into the boat, and my trailer is heavy. Plus, I always keep full fuel onboard. It's surprising the same boat can have such a wide range of weight..Just goes...

    232 Gulfstream trailering

I sold my 3/4 454 and bought a Cummins Dodge Diesel for my Gulfstream. A 1/2 ton is too light..My Gulfstream is 10,100 lbs. and my full-ton Dually Dodge is perfect. Keep in mind you'll be hauling extra gear..Anchors, coolers full of ice, it all adds up. My opinion..You need a "safety comfort...

    Looking for advice

Gradyfish and I said the same thing. On another note, your Islander probably scales close to 9000-10,000 lbs. fully loaded with your trailer. If you haven't already, make sure the trailer is sprung heavy enough to handle your boat and assess the axle capacity. My 232 Gulfstream weighs 10,100...

    Looking for advice

It's a split camp between rollers and bunks. Both work well. I think the decision-maker should be the type of ramps you use. Ramps where the concrete ends early and you can't back in very far is a great situation for rollers. Bunks have the edge(for me) where ramps are long and gradual...

    Which Grady should I buy

This would be a great opportunity to give you my "Diesel Speech," but I will refrain. I think your Dodge will tow either fine.. You'll know the boat is back there and you be 9-11 MPG. Remember it's easy to get carried away with stowing gear..More than likely you'll add more stuff as you get to...

    Missing Boaters - NFL Players

Search was suspended at sundown by the Coast Guard. They apparently think there's no chance of anyone still floating on the surface,. All good safety points made here. The only thing I can add is what I stated earlier in this thread..They were out of VHF range more than likely, out of cell...

    Missing Boaters - NFL Players

The report I heard was they talked to the survivor hanging onto the boat. Apparently they were anchored, the boat capsized and the 2 NFL guys couldn't hold on and drifted away. Fortunately, they were all wearing lifevests. The CG was continuing search procedures, hoping to find them before...

    Missing Boaters - NFL Players

I guess we can all speculate. 4 fairly big guys.. Maybe they all moved astern to snag a fish and a wave boarded the boat. If they were drifting, most likely the boat was drifting stern-to. Engine trouble is always a possibility..No VHF?? With a single engine experiencing problems, they're...

    Salt Water Washdown/Livewell pumps

I guess this doesn't answer the question, but I don't use my raw-water washdown in saltwater for the above stated reason.

    Another New Guy!!!!!!!!

Hey Fred.. May I join the rest in saying "Hi" and "Welcome." The knowledge on this site is amazing; I get a lot of info just reading the posts All these owners from Jersey and the East Coast are everywhere. I'm still waiting for a fellow Grady owner from Indiana.

Newbie whats the difference between a Gulfstream and Voyager

Never having owned or ridden on a Voyager I can't provide any input on the differences. I do own a 2007 Gulfstream, and CAN say that I overnite comfortably. I stay on it for 2 weeks at a time twice a year on my vacations and many 2 niters throughout the season. Only once have I slept in the...

    New Here

That's an '86?? Holy Cow....never seen one that looks that good for as old as it is.. Either you or the previous owner(s) put lots of time into upkeep.. In any case you have a real neat rig.

Single versus double engine settup on Gulfstream!

Hey JP.. Since your post started this firestorm of opinions, you now are required to let us all know what your final decision is. Don't leave us hangin' and best of luck with whatever you decide..

Single versus double engine settup on Gulfstream!

BobP.. Yeah, I'm referring to my 4-stroke 200's.. I tried a wide-open run on an (unusually)calm day on the Atlantic side of the Keys, just North of Marathon. I had run the fuel down to 1-2 bars on the gauge and figured that with the light fuel load and saltwater, now was my chance. I hit 5800...

Single versus double engine settup on Gulfstream!

Oh and JpClarkie.. My Gulfstream will not hit 50MPH with my 200's. I can bounce off 48-49, trimmed out.. My guess is that's the diff. between the 4-strokes and the slightly more powerful HDPI's. I'm staying out of the bantering between Catch and JimOnTheRoad but Jim has a point. If you are...

Single versus double engine settup on Gulfstream!

My trailer weight for my 232 is 10,100 LBS. It adds up in a hurry. I have great respect for Gradyfish and enjoy all his posts.. I have to disagree strongly with him here, however. Twin 200's are NOT overkill for a 232. I own one and they are the perfect powerplants.. I would've got 225's...

Single versus double engine settup on Gulfstream!

I had a Seafarer with a single and a bracket. It was a pain to horse around a dock, especially in a windy situation. I can only imagine I would have even more trouble docking my current Gulfstream with a single. I have twin 200's on mine and the twins make docking and close-quarter maneuvering...
