    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

CJ; Thanks for the info..Did'nt know that!! That's why this site is cool.. My truck is the '07 Dodge..My son Jason has the Duramax, circa '06. I will certainly let him know about the OD-lockout feature you described. I wonder if his injectors are suspect? Next time I drive my Dodge(I have...

    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

Interesting what Okletsfish says..If there's a rash of newer models, getting bad mileage that would explain a lot...Our trucks run really well and get, I repeat, 16-18 or so empty. gw204; We don't have the "OD-off" feature..We both have the "Tow-Haul" switch. Since there's no option to...

    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

That's what we thought..There was something amiss with the Duramax. My son Jason owns the Duramax..he pulls a CC Donzi, twins, Canopy-top weighs 7500 or so with twin 150's. He gets 8-9. I get my 232 Gulfstream, need a truck to pull it, get my Dodge with the new 6.7 Cummins, It gets THE...

    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

I would've figured it was a truck issue, but BOTH the Cummins and the Duramax gets 8-9. If I run 50-60, I'll get 10-11 if there's no significant headwind. Hey KenLahr, Did you have a hardtop on your Gulfstream? We think it might be causing an aerodynamic problem for us... The trucks run...

    New Seafarer

I had a 1992 for 10 years..It was the bracketed version (228G) with a 250 Saltwater Series Yamaha. They are trailerable, versatile rigs. I overnited in the cabin a lot(that's part of the fun for me,) and they're real stable for their size. The sea state and weather dictates how far offshore...

    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

I agree with the others, it'll pull fine.. I personally would appreciate a MPG report when you start towing, plus, anyone else with a diesel truck towing a Grady. I hear all these people saying they get 12-14 pulling big trailers. My son has a Duramax..I have a Cummins Dodge. I pull 232...

Geez, I envy you Fla and SoCal guys

Family, Friends and Career are what's important to me..I have a great 232, a great trailer, and am blessed to be able to take it wherever. Weather is secondary...It always warms up eventually in Indiana.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris.. If you plan to do any extensive trailering, make sure they don't sell you a trailer that's barely adequate for the boat. EVERY trailer I was sold in the past had problems due to being under-built. I started having them custom-made and over-built and my problems stopped...

    Dealer Referral

Chris; Thanks for considering Twin Cities...Al told me he had talked to you..Hope it works out there for you.. When you get the rig, I'll run my 232 down to Conelly sometime and we'll talk about our boats..As we've discussed. there aren't many Gradys in our neck-of-the-woods/

    Dealer Referral

Capt.Chris My vote is Twin Cities Marine in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. I have spent many a nite on Cumberland..I know Wisconsin is a haul, but they are the real thing. Al Howarth stopped at nothing to make sure I was happy when I bought my Gulfstream. They are old-school, make the customer...

Four Stroke or HPDI Two Stroke?

I agree with gw204..Gradys, either with 2-stroke or 4-strokes are not speedboats..They are for, well, you all know what they're for. I have twin 200 4-strokes on my Gulfstream, and they have plenty of holeshot..Like gw204, I bring it up slow and gradual. I had the same 2-vs.-4 stroke...

    future grady models...40 ft express

Thanks Capt. Bill and everyone.. Those are good suggestions, I will practice them when I get the 232 out next. What I seem to wind up doing when the wind hits me wrong is use both engines as a single, and revert back to my days of handling my 22 Seafarer single... That gets aggravating, as I...

    future grady models...40 ft express

Gradyfish22, and, well, everybody, I guess. If I am getting away from the subject at hand, I ask pardon. This seems to tie in, in my view. My 232 with twin 200's,circa 2007 is my 1st twin rig. I never operated a twin-screw before I took the helm of this boat. Obviously I am still learning...

    232 0r 228G?

I owned a Seafarer with the bracket(228G,) for 10 years. It had a single 250 Saltwater Series Yamaha, circa 1994. I now own my 2007 232 with twin Four Stroke 200 Yamahas. Therefore I can literally speak from experience. The 232 is a MUCH better boat all the way around, as far as I'm...

What model Grady White do you own?

Happy Holiday All; 2007 232 Gulfstream, ordered new from Twin Cities Marine, Two Rivers Wisconsin. Twin 200 Yamaha Four's. Garmin GPS/Chartplotter, old 1985 Humminbird LCR 3004 depth sounder.( I LOVE them, they ALWAYS read on plane.A Sounder is useless to me if it doesn't.) Custom...

    My New Grady

Hey Ken; Fab boat! I'd be interested in your total towing weight(Boat+Gear+Trailer.) Plus, what kind of truck/engine combo you have and the towing mileage. Reason being, I tow my 232 Gulfstream around quite a bit, and I always like to hear about towing facts and stats.. Have a great...
