    1999 ox66 225 flashing 12 volts

Not yet. It will be our next step. I hope it is this simple. If it is, I'm going to be concerned about the reliability of this model battery. I might need to look at a different model.

    1999 ox66 225 flashing 12 volts

Yes there is a wire connecting the 2 negative terminals. The gps and radio worked when we switched to the other battery. We didn't try any other elctronics. The batteries we took out last fall tested bad. We replaced one with a new one to enable us to do testing and set-up new electronics...

    1999 ox66 225 flashing 12 volts

Yes the engine starts on either battery without issue. We did this several times. I did not try starting on the "both" setting. I'm not sure how high the voltage went up. I'll need to look again, but I don't think it hit 13.5 @1200. We did remove the batteries and reinstall them. We bought...

    1999 ox66 225 flashing 12 volts

What does the flashing voltage mean on the Yamaha display? I don't think I have ever seen 14v on the display. I wonder if I have a charging issue.

    1999 ox66 225 flashing 12 volts

Both batteries are new. Running one battery shows 12.4 volts at idle and when the RPM's increase so does the voltage. When running the other battery the yamaha display shows 12-12.2 volts. When RPM's increase/ voltage does not. Also when running on this battery, it will occasionally flash 12V...

    Water tank maintenance

How do you clean it? How long do you let water stay in it before replacing with new? If I use half the tank, how long can it sit before mold grows? How do you prevent mold growth? Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Resolution to SX225 Stalling - Thanks

I have a 99' 225 that has had a similar life. I think the high pressure fuel pump was replaced by the previous owner a few years back not the low pressure. I need to check the paperwork on it. Was the ethanol to blame or was it simply age?

Launching with roller trailer and ele. winch - Need advice

My dad and I have been trailering a 20ft Grady for years with a hand winch and bunk trailer. We were lightning fast at the ramp both in and out. Now we have a Voyager with a roller trailer and an electric winch. Unloading has especially become more difficult. Here are the issues: 1...

I went to the boat show, Holy Cow!

Great point! What is also impressive is that had the restraint to walk away without coughing up any $$. That takes power!

I went to the boat show, Holy Cow!

Unfortunately in a lot of industries that cater to consumers, the business models have seem to change as a result of the bad economy. Instead of 50 boats at $50,000 for $2.5 mil, they rather sell 30 @ $85000 for example. It is really frustrating for people that want to buy new and in some ways...

    Grady White 248

I'd say that is about right. We payed $21 for a like new '99 with a single ox 225. He was asking $25 and had several calls on it after I put a deposit down.

    Grady 258 & 282 input

I don't know if Michigan fishing is like Erie, but 50 miles out is Canadian water! The security of twins is not as important as it is for you off-shore east coast guys that travel great distances. A tow is usually never more than a few miles away. To each their own.

    Yami 4 stroke question

Simple, the housings just get bigger! Turbo diesel outboard. How much does this princess weigh!?! http://www.megoutboard.com/index.php

    Yami 4 stroke question

jethro, The comment was made that a 4-stroke will never have power similar to a 2-stroke. My point was that a DI 4-stroke could get close to or exceed the horsepower and torque of current DI 2 stroke outboards while having similar weight. For example, Ford is already building a production DI...

    Yami 4 stroke question

Tucker, you are right. Di has kept 2 strokes alive primarily because of the significant reduction in emissions, but I wonder how much further they can go. Were ox66's and F225's made at the same time? If so, Grady probably does have fuel and speed tests. Peak HP numbers on a 225 FI 2-stroke...

    Yami 4 stroke question

For what the industry calls fuel injection, you are correct. Direct injection however, you are 100% wrong. :sorry FI systems usually run at about 90 psi. Gas DI systems on the otherhand run at several thousand PSI (diesels run over 25,000 psi!). Just like presurrized liquid refrigerant...

    Yami 4 stroke question

One fact that I forgot to mention... If Bombardier decides to follow the Yamaha and go to "sleeveless" cylinders (like the motorcycle industry has been doing for 25+ years) 2-stroke weight could drop significantly too. With the cost of gas going sky high and emissions regs becoming tougher...

    Yami 4 stroke question

You wanna put money on that? :P They haven't gone to direct injection on the 4 strokes... yet. Once they do, the thumpers will outpower the 2-smokes. For the outrageous prices they charge for an engine, turbos aren't out of the question either. A turbo 4-stroke will make not only more, but...
