    Good adhesive remover?

I always use mineral spirits and plastic scraper to remove the glue residue. Works pretty good. Then wool pad compound the area and see what it looks like. The fade around the area where the decal was will be more pronounced and not a lot you can do unless replacing with new decals or over time...

    Time for a new trailer

Torsion is way better in longer life than springs. My torsion axles have lasted 15 years and the actual torsion part is still working great. The only failure is where they did not isolate the galvanized axle flange from the aluminum I-Beam frame. My previous spring trailer didn't last long, I...

    Time for a new trailer

For my old trailer, using it now, I have upgraded all wiring to heavy gauge Marine Tinned with all LED lighting. All working. The Kodiak SS brakes with SS hubs and Oil bath alone if purchased new is about $1800 and have new pads put on this summer. I am sure the brakes are worth more than the...

    Time for a new trailer

Just pulled the trigger on a new trailer. Old one needed new axles and I didn't want to do that work. Wondering what the market is for an older trailer that needs new axles for a 24 to 26' boat. It is a Road King and tows really well. I upgraded to full SS Kodiak's including the hubs a few years...

    VHF Radio Output

Thanks Captain Bill! So basically, I am not losing range due to the lesser watts output? That was my main concern really here.

    VHF Radio Output

Thanks ocnslr, I had rewired to the radio box a few years back with oversize wiring to handle all the new electronics. However, I just went out and did another retest to make sure no drop issue. Results were only .2v drop when keying the mic. Running with charger on, was 13. 7v and unplugged...

25' Trophy pro - help replace livewell drain?

Where exactly is the livewell in the pic? Is it in the middle under that hatch? On my 25 Sailfish, it is on the Port side. I was able to pull out the round deck hatch in the cockpit area just offset but somewhat in front of the livewell and access it from there. Also, can you access from the...

Will your Grady float if capsized or swamped?

Even if the boat sank, if they had the ability to float with anything, including life jackets, one would think they could be found, but likely a person floating that far out is like a needle in a haystack. These guys would have had good training and sense being firefighters. Makes me ponder as I...

Clear Plexiglass switch and gauge covers for 1991 Grady Sailfish

If these are like mine, they are amber tinted and curve at the top ledge and attach to the hinges. I would try Boat Outfitters and see if they can make some up for you if you send yours in. I heard they did some custom work like that.

    Replacement cam latches

Yes, true. Will see how it holds up. The latch part is most likely the corrosive part and might think about coating it.

    Replacement cam latches

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Here is another alternative and works great. Very heavy duty as well. With a little rasping file to enlarge the hole a little, they fit perfectly. Amazon: uxcell Machine Cabinet Drawer Plastic T Handle Swing Knob Turn Cam Lock...

    Replacement cam latches

Thanks Len! First thing I have found that is even close to what was used. Got to do some measurements. I do wish I could find them in plastic though.

    Replacement cam latches

Thanks seasick, seems hard to put together one that will work. Will have to go down to boat and remove one and get measurments and see what I can do from there. In the meantime, anyone know of any laying around or any other source in case you have had to replace them?

Anyone know where a source is for replacement cam latches that will fit on the cabin cabinet doors? One of mine just broke last weekend.

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

Good to hear! We did one sea trial for about 7 miles out and then back in rough 4-5' seas on day and it did pretty good. That was the roughest trial so far.

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

Hey Ozz, you still out there? By they way, if anyone has this autopilot, the Default setting of 3 is the way to go. On 5, it over-reacts and is constantly trying to correct when it the seas. Overall, it has been great. Been offshore over 50-60 miles each way last two trips and it was flawless...
