    Auto pilots

Took a shot at the Lowrance Outboard Pilot Hydraulic Pac Autopilot system this year when I updated to the new HDSLive 12's and the new Halo24 radar. All I can say is that the Autopilot should have been one of my priorities years ago! Just did not know that this unit can support twin motors on...

    Racoons

Not sure if it will work for coons, but I have a radio always playing in my cabin, just loud enough to hear when next to the boat faintly. It would be loud enough for critters and think it is occupied. I did this out of desperation of some cats getting in the boat and leaving their marks. Since...

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

Hey Ozz, update. I have installed my Lowrance Autopilot and tested on local lake. Seem to work perfectly. I like the ability to adjust the output strength of the pump when commissioning. I think I have it set on 5 now and it is pretty quick to respond. Turns the motors with what seems no effort...

    Fuel Primer pump

As suggested by others on this forum I removed my primer pumps and installed primer bulbs made by Yamaha and they work perfectly. Got them from Sim Yamaha. Also freed up a switch on the helm as result.

    Wash or Dry Clean

I have the cloth cushions, not vinyl in the cabin and just took them out of the boat, leaned against the house and sprayed them down with some upholstery cleaner with enzymes, then rinsed with water hose. Let them drain for a day and they came out great! They dry pretty quick. Can also bring...

Do you think these cushions will clean up?

Those armrests came out amazing. I would have thought they were done for.

    Hose stretcher needed,,,,,,,

Good deal! Some of these models, including mine, if you pull the hose first, likely will never find a way to get them through again without having to put in some deck acces plates!

    Hose stretcher needed,,,,,,,

Ooops...didn't see the pic until after I posted. Seems you already pulled the hoses. That might be fun trying to fish them to the holes to pull them through now. But anyhow, new hoses is the right way to go. Mine too were very old, but looked very good. I think they would have been fine, but...

    Hose stretcher needed,,,,,,,

I replaced my hoses and it wasn't too awful of a job. Just connect the old to the new hose with a barb fitting or pvc pipe and put some screws in then pull it through.

    Replacing GW Switches

Thinking of doing the same, so interested in responses as well!

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

This is promising. Perhaps they have done some testing and can now make that statement. Gives me more confidence that it will work.

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

Something I now see on lowrance site that they reworded regarding linked twins is promising: Outboard Pilot is an MFD Autopilot add-on system designed for boats up to 30ft with a single or dual-linked outboard motor.

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

Great OZZ! Eager to find out how it performs!

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

So it seems the navico pump is about 2.5 times larger per the conversion, which elicites it should handle the job, right?

Lowrance Auto Pilot with twin outboards

I have been wondering the same for my setup if the Lowrance system would work with my twins. Twin 200 HPDI's with one cylinder on tie bar. I can turn the wheel with one finger in mostly all conditions. Very easy. Seems it would be able to do it, but don't want to throw the clams at it if it...

    1992 Grady-White Sailfish 25' Radar Mount Help

Do you trailer your boat? If so, watch your height. I had to flush mount mine and still hit some trees.

    282 Sailfish Groco Macerator replacement/conversion.

Just make sure you put a really good thread sealant on the pickup tube side. I converted about 2 years ago and this year was struggling to get it to start pulling out the waste. Finally found that the thread sealant had not worked and was sucking in air. Since, I have fixed it and it pulls like...

    Yamaha HPDI 200 low idle

Here is a pic of the carbon buildup in the thimble when the mechanic pulled it.

    Yamaha HPDI 200 low idle

I have always attributed some of this to just how a 2 stroke has to wake up in the morning and clear it's throat! Oil settles and it has to burn it off as it warms up. Dunno. My old OMC Seadrive was the same way, but it was not computerized and controlled like the motors of today. I just wish...

    Yamaha HPDI 200 low idle

Hi teakljr, just now getting a chance to respond to this message. I have 2006 200's and have suffered the same issues. Very interesting what you have stated is exactly my symptoms as well. Over time in last year or so, I have had them to a good mechanic and he had opportunity for over 2 months...
