I am looking at the AP44 VRF Medium Capacity Pack - AP44, NAC-2, Precision 9 & Pump-2. Sounds like you use it how I am thinking of using it. A question I have is with the main motor turned off will it steer my kicker motor which is tied to the main motor?

I am not planning on taking a nap when on autopilot lol! I may not understand AP fully. I was thinking I could pick a set point and it would take me there? Of course I would be at the ready and alert to what is happening around me.

I am thinking autopilot would be handy for trolling, I could take my hands and mind of driving for a moment to grab a jacket, sandwich, get fishing gear in to the water etc. maybe help me get back if I get caught in the fog?

Yes it is about putting an autopilot on it.

I have done more research today and I agree. I will upgrade to hydraulic steering 1st than maybe a Simrad or Garmin auto pilot. The Helm Master video impressed me with all it could do!
