232 Aux Tank clean-out Water in fuel

as far as the pickup, i don't know for sure, but just because it comes thru the front of the tank doesn't mean it isn't run inside to the back. i think you are hurting things with the seafoam. that contains alcohol and won't help your cause with e-10. i use stabil with good results. ron

Great Product for Boat Fixers of All Skill Levels

i use it on almost everything. been using it since '02. when i traded in the gulfstream, the gauge connections and everything else i sprayed had no corrosion at all. it does get gunky if you do a thick coat (it's a wax-like substance), but it's better than having things corrode away. spray...

    marlin300 generator question

i think that if you read the manual (and the gentset control panel on mine) you will see that the issue is running the boat at planning speeds with the genset seacock open, but the gen OFF. that could force water into the head. ron

    What should I do?

further to my post, if you think that you paid a fair price for the boat (all other things equal) then you are basically satisfied. i don't know what the retail difference on the engines are. if it is significant, then i would proceed as noted. if it is pretty much a push, consider that you...

    What should I do?

i think you need to find a local yamaha guy that you TRUST (hopefully it is the one you will service with 'cause i wouldn't bring my boat back to that dealer for nuttin'). they should be able to give you a retail value difference.

    What should I do?

if it were me, i would not let it go. the engine computer cannot be changed for hours so the real numbers are in there. if you have an email that shows 671 i would make sure you keep that. find someone reputable to give you a price differential between 671 and 1300. go back to them and tell...

    Keeping fresh water.... fresh

if you use that much, make sure you flush the system throughly. i use about an ounce to 40 gallons for regular sanitizing and preventing growth. we don't drink the onboard water.

    head deck pumpout for 232

on my '02, the valve was beneath the deck plate that was inside of the step in the cabin. don't know if it the same on yours. if you don't get an answer here, call gw. ron

    deck screws and wood

those ore the ones i'm talking about. better a little preventive maintenance than to have to repair later; that's all.

    deck screws and wood

i use 4200. keep an eye open for an over countersunk hole. had one on my '02 gulfstream. if you have any, fill with marinetex, or the like, and re-countersink. ron

    I asked a question about GW's & wood

might be something to do yourself if it is straight forward. the removable decks can be fixed from the underside. haven't done it myself, but know someone doing it now.

    wiper conversion to pantograph

anybody try to do this without installing a new motor? i hate the way the wiper runs across the windshield at rest. i saw a pursuit yesterday that had pantographs that were clearly not driven from the motor. looked like the base of the secondary arm was just attached to a bracket. ron

    I asked a question about GW's & wood

if it is bad and in need of an extensive repair, i would go to them. if there is just some minor problems, you might want to try the gitrot product that they use to repair wooden boats.

    I asked a question about GW's & wood

grog, i just started resealing all the deck screws on my 2009. (i've been waiting for a stretch of dry weather.) i had noticed on my '02 gulfstream that those screws weren't sealed the way i would have; so i did it. just have the cockpit access plates to do. after that, i want to change...
