    Walk-around vs true fishing boat

I’d think I would be buying an older Marlin vs the newer 232 for what you want to do, the 232 isn’t a great boat for towsports so you won’t be giving up much and seems like you would gain a lot in all the other areas. I have a 208 but was on a Marlin last week offshore. The 218 is a bit...

    2021 Adventure 208 Build

Just looked up where you are located, glad you are far away from the disaster but am sure it feels close. Hope you do have friends or family on Maui. Am looking at your set ups for inspiration along with some other items plucked from 208, 228 and now 218 cousins on my 2021 208 with F200...

    2023 Adventure 218

My 208 hardtop has a 200, good enough and good match, for the heavier 218 with a hardtop I’d go for a 250. I have a mech but I’d go digital if doing solo fishing (depending on how/where you fish), but pricey for the full EX setup and the V6!

    2023 Adventure 218

Looks pretty sweet! I picked up a 2021 208 this summer, love it. Perfect for me. I can see the evolution. More space between the (better seats), wider dash for the electronics. The jump seat cushions are set in, if you take a wave or spray that passenger won’t get so wet. Staying dry in the...

    grady club in south jersey

When I bought the boat I drove it from Alpine NJ (on the Hudson across from Yonkers, down through Raritan bay and around the Hook, through Barnegat inlet to Waretown. 3 ft. 6-7 sec day with southerlies and a quartering head sea going down the shore. About 100 miles and 4.5 hours I’d go back up...

    grady club in south jersey

I bought my 208 earlier this year and am berthed in Waretown. Would be psyched to plan a GW day. Waretown is 30 miles down the parkway from Brick and you need to Navigate the GSP traffic slowdown through Tom’s River. On the plus side it is a very fast traverse to Barnegat Inlet and the inshore...

    My Favorite Things:)

The smell of diesel in the morning, reminds me of going out on Salmon charters from Westport WA when I was a kid. A really sharp knife.

    208 Adventure Top end

Just was digging around a bit on prop selection. wondering where you guys finally ended up on props for Hardtop 208 with F200. Based on experience from my current Solas HR4 14.5x15p 4-blade, with PropGods recommendation I ordered a Powertech SCE4 14x14p 4-blade. 2021 208 with f200, hardtop...

    Loop Around South Florida

Cool trip! Sorry to see that you had some mechanical needs along the way but impressed with you ability to improvise.

    Great couple weekends of crabbing...

Nice! Miss that Dungeness although the blue crabs on the east coast are good. I grew up in Seattle/Tacoma. The saltwater fishing here in NJ I am just starting into after 30 years of fly fishing freshwater mostly. I do miss fly fishing into the beach sea-grass for sea-run cutthroat trout in...

    Freedom 235 proper trim

To the OP, good luck getting good trim setting for you 235, extrapolating experience from other hills. On the 208 with Yamaha 200 running a 4-blade Solus 14.5x15, trimmed in to start, then typical running for me is 3 bars up the digital gauge. Really rough taking it on the bow I will trim all...

    Freedom 235 proper trim

General guidelines to follow for sure, but also very boat model and individual boat specific depending on configuration. I am learning that on my 208 I use more engine trimmed in that I originally anticipated. My theory is that with the short boat, the transition to the shallower deadrise...

    New 208 Owner

Hear you on deck space, it runs out fast. Kids (well they are grown girls) already had me get a 6x6 floating dock. Very cool, I can fold it in half partially inflated and it sits ahead of the transom. The kids sit in the transom seats with their legs stretched out on it. A 228 you wouldn’t...

ANY GRADY CLUBS IN OR NEAR BROOKLYN NY

Cool, my new to me 208 is down in Barnegat Bay but I live in Madison NJ. I drove it down from Alpine, across from Yonkers, would drive it back up for a big meet up. Atlantic Highlands is kinda midpoint?

    g berths in a 2008 232 Gulfstream

I’d think that you could have those filler cushions made by a boat upholstery shop. I had my local dealer inquire about the bow cushions for a 208. Grady wants $1600. A local sail loft/upholstery shop will do it this winter for half.

    New 208 Owner

Thanks for the 208 endorsements and advice on boat and gear. I have been looking at a Grady for 18 years while I was land bound. As you know, you leave the world behind when you pull out of the slip. I can see the incremental utility of a 228 but this local (in NJ) 208 ticked so many boxes...

I followed a friend of mine to that spot, I think as you follow double creek channel around heading east you can bear south in front of the Dike, that is the back channel to Loveladies Harbor. As you enter there is a small area to the right where you can tuck in, just above a patch that looks...
