I hear you on the squirrelly, has anyone run 4 blade props on a 265? Wonder if that would help

I think the new Merc 200-225 V6’s or the new Merc 250 V8 would be perfect, but the wait is close to a year. Some one on here repowered with G2 250’s. Might want to contact them

So, My creek was recently dredged and we’re finalizing the new dock/lift design. I currently have a 265, but one day hope to move to a 305. Do you think a 14k lift would be enough for a 305? Could a 12k work? I can’ find the weight of a 305 . TIA, SeaVee

Finally got my 1042’s flush mounted and my fusion installed, hope the pic loads...

Looks like no power to the panel for the pump, I can see fuses in the panel under the dash, can’t figure out which ones for the pump. Stupid question #874; any other way to pump this out if my pump is bad? Do the marina pump out devices suck it out or do I have to rely on my macerator pump?

Thanks fellas- stupid question since I am right at the oceanfront, what’s the process to discharge legally at sea? Just open the sea cocks and pump the toilet handle? I can get out 10 miles pretty quick. Thanks

Still figuring out this boat, and got a couple newbie questions. It is a 2001. My switch in the Head doesn’t look like it’s getting any power, I get nothing when I push those buttons. Apparently my tank is full because I noticed a little seeping out of the vent, so I guess I need to pump it...

I hated my new to me 265 on my first run in sloppy conditions, but after a 100 hours or so I am starting to really get her dialed in. Takes getting used to, for sure. Especially if she’s light on fuel.

I pulled my floor last summer when I got my 2001 265 . I had to replace some fuel lines and took a look at the tanks and it looks super easy to get them out compared to some of the other boats I’ve owned.

Change the little filter on the bottom of your oil tank, the remote tank. I had the same issue and would get an alarm at higher rpm’s when it was asking for more oil that to get through the clogged filter, didn’t happen at lower RPM. I keep a couple extra ones on the boat now, and I’ve modified...

Super easy to pull the deck and replace the fuel lines yourself , get the tanks polished for 400-500, then change all the fuel filters including the “Mystery Filters” and you should be good to go! When I bought mine 265 the prior owner never used the Aux tank in 13 years! We did the above to it...

Was that boat in Charleston? For 5-8 grand you can probably find a set of 200HPDI’s in great shape, seen a few sets for sale on THT. People love those motors, maybe get a second opinion on your issues, I can’t see it costing 8k to get those running.

That’s a very common problem on the F225’s. As far as JB Weld, I had an 02 Honda 225 on my previous boat, had about the same issue. I tried a few things but JB Weld Steel Stik seems to work best. Worth a try .

I have done that, except I haven’t found the 305 info. Maybe I should’ve worded it differently, I’m on a small creek, and just a difference in the piling footprint for a lift larger than 12,000 pounds is a bit problematic for my ingress egress . It looks like the beam may be an issue as well...
