    OX66 charging second battery

I was an aeronautical engineer, but here’s my theory. If one battery is higher voltage than the other, current should flow to the lower voltage in an amount, dependent on the internal resistance of the lower voltage battery. The actual voltage delta is typically very small so the current flow...

    OX66 charging second battery

I did exactly that with the previous boat. The aux charging lead from your voltage regulator on the engine will keep that number two battery charged up when it is not selected. I was also concerned that when it was selected providing two charge leads to the same battery might be an issue...

    30amp to 50amp

Agree with hookup1, but a simpler way is to simply purchase a 50 amp to 15 or 20 amp adapter, plug and use a long, heavy duty extension cord. The longer your run from your 115 V power source on the hard to your boat requires the heavier extension cord. Your boat is only single phase 115V AC and...

    TRANSDUCERS

Mounted GT-56 with the Sternmate system cantilevered over the garboard plug so I still have access to to remove it if necessary. Centerline on the keel. Works good for sidescan at off plane speeds. Driven by GPSMAP 1243xsv. Outstanding sidescan at lower speeds, motors don’t get in the way.

looking to buy a trolling motor to use as an anchor/ spotlock

36V minnkota I-pilot with the longest shaft they sell. I have had two and they are great. Buy them from trolling motors.net for the best price. Free shipping no tax. The shaft will be a bit long for storage but if you mount it correctly, it shouldn’t be in the way. The only advantage to a...

Actuator for Instrument panel on 33 Express

I had the same problem. Use care not to drive it to either extreme, open or closed. I close mine to about a 1/4" from hitting the stop. I also lubricated the mechanism with silicone spray. It is accessible from behind the electrical panel in the cabin. That panel will drop out of the opening...

30’ to 36’ boat owners with transom mounted transducers, I need your help

My garboard plug is still reachable as the mounting plate is slightly above it with the transducer cantilever down over it. I can still unscrew it. The mounting plate is centered directly over the garboard plug.

30’ to 36’ boat owners with transom mounted transducers, I need your help

I have the same set up on my 2007 330. The GT 56 is centered between the engines and is driven by a 1243xsv. I also have the original through hull transducer that works as well.

12 foot surge here in Inglis! We had 23” of water in our lower level (garage) 330 was secured to float above the lift and it rose 4-5’ but came back down about 6” off ideal placement. Used long scope mooring lines to trees and pilings to accommodate the tidal range. We had 70-80 knots and it had...

Battery Drain whilst isolators are off

Most VHF-FM Tranceivers are hard wired past the BATT switches as are stereo memory. The electrical schematics will only show GW standard items such as bilge pumps, stereo, carbon monoxide detector, etc. not electronics installed by dealers etc.

    Fuel filter/water seperator

Recommend a stainless steel head versus powder coated aluminum. The mating surface often gets corroded on the aluminum ones. The mating surface is not powder coated on the aluminum ones and it corrodes pretty easily.

    3 blade Vs. 4 blade - thoughts

Don’t forget that when repowering, the engines may have different lower unit gear ratios so the engine RPM may not correspond to the same prop RPM on a different engine. For instance, the newer 4.2 L Yamaha four strokes have a different gear ratio than the older 3.3 L four strokes.

    330 Express Transducers

I am a fan of Garmin. My boat originally came with some old Garmin and upgraded to dual 1243xsv screens. I am a fan of sidescan for where I fish in the Gulf of Mexico. So I have a GT 56 transducer mounted amid ships on the transom. I also have a through hull, don’t remember the number but works...
