Need help, hoping for help on wiring issue

I was cleaning my battery terminals on my sailfish yesterday and noticed one of my negative wires was sparking, giving positive feedback which is a no no. Traced that line to the negative bus bar under the helm/steering. There's aprox 11 black wires going to this bar. I removed each one and...

    Enclosure aluminum rivets?

Just wanted to update and say thanks. It was the easiest fix I've come across in while. Like you said. Get the tool, use aluminum rivet. Simple. Worked like a charm!

    Seastar Hoses

Thank you skunkboat!!!! I just wanted to make sure before I placed the order. I have a few 6" pieces I need to make for my helm to auto connections and what's in there now is brass tubing. Im assuming I can just buy the long 25' piece, fittings, and make my pieces as needed. This is all new to...

    Broken driver side panel

Ok I'll give it my best guess as far as advice goes on this as I'm not great with fabrication work. If it were me and my limited fiberglass skills, I would take some kind of bendable material (cardboard, plastic sheet etc) and get it behind that hole and taped down as best you can. Then I would...

    Cabin window leak

Hey congrats on the new boat! Do a quick search in the search bar "cabin leak" and there's a few threads that should pop up. I haven't gotten around to fixing mine yet, but if I recall when researching it you had to remove the exterior trim and seal and clean everything out and replace the seal...

    Helm seats

I think those lebrocs are nice, but I honestly like having the armrest, also those lebrocs are out of my price range. I figure for $450 I can have armrest, flip up leaning post style, and front/rear flip position. My only concern is if it'll bolt directly into the existing seat bracket?

    Helm seats

Bringing this alive again! Want to replace my Pompanette capt chair with this: https://www.westmarine.com/buy/springfield--twin-46-flip-up-seat--17075086 The details are limited online and wanted to know if anyone installed this model? Seems like a good compromise? I guess I'm concerned if...

    Enclosure aluminum rivets?

Thank you for the advice and info!. I just purchased this one that comes with aluminum rivets of all sizes. Worsted case scenario I open up the hole a bit to fit the rivet size.

    Enclosure aluminum rivets?

There were definitely rivets there beforehand. Not sure how they popped out but two of them did and noticed my portside vinyl flopping around up top. I've pretty handy but never used a rivet gun, let alone one for aluminum? Any pointers are appreciated.

    Enclosure aluminum rivets?

I have a 282 sailfish and while doing maintenance I noticed 2 of the "rivets" that hold the track for the vinyl enclosure had popped or broke off from the aluminum hardtop piping. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

    Electronics 101

Furuno just did a series of videos that best describes the differences in each of the latest and greatest models from 4 major brands. I believe there's 6 videos out now and are an easy series to watch. Granted they are a bit furuno biased, but it gives you a good idea of each brand. Just Google...

    Thru-hull scupper on 282

Ok the dealer nearest me is totally incompetent at least in their parts dept. They couldn't find the part number in their system. I called another dealer further away and they were able to look up the parts with no issues so I'm ordering with them. Thank you for everyone helping out here.

    Thru-hull scupper on 282

And not to ramble but here was the response from Grady earlier as well:. Here’s the thru hull fitting chart that shows the locations and the part #’s. The scuppers GW part # 11-463 are made by PERKO, INC. (ph#305-621-7525) and their item # is 377 A08 CHR SHORT SCUPPER. This fitting is obsolete...

    Thru-hull scupper on 282

Definitely going with bronze. Ky thanks for that chart, extremely helpful. I put a call into the local dealer, used that part# 11-657, and they are going to call me back after they confirm it's the correct fit. I told them about the old vs new part# and that they should be similar, but they just...

    Thru-hull scupper on 282

Ky, I googled the part # and all I could find is a Grady parts catalog from 2007 referencing that part number as the correct part (short scupper). Who is the manufacturer of part #???
