Help with removal transom back rest and gunwale cushions on a 2011 GW 228 seafarer

I have a 1999 Seafarer that did not have the side bolsters and some of the other cushions when I bought the boat 18 months ago. The side bolster clips were still on the boat so I bought the backing plastic, heated and curved them and cut holes to slide over the clips and had the upholstery shop...

1999 228G Seafarer with Hardtop Total Weight Question

The carrying capacity of the trailer is 5200lbs which I thought I was good until weighing the boat and truck the other day on the scale and then going back to just weigh the truck. I just assumed that the Specs from the Grady White website would be accurate but my mistake. Looks like I’m...

1999 228G Seafarer with Hardtop Total Weight Question

Hello, I was wondering if someone knew the weight of the 228G with a hardtop? I have the 1999 model with the hardtop but the 1999 brochure tells me it’s 3000lbs and the 2000 brochure tells me it’s 3350lbs with the Grady bracket. I took it to a local scale today and from my calculations after...

    Powder Coat Color

I powder coated a bolt on bracket to extend the height on the factory pod to mount my 30 inch Suzuki. The powder coat that was a very close match was called furniture white, I can try to get the colour number if you like.

    More prop talk Seafarer 228

I have a 1999 228G Seafarer with a 2012 Suzuki DF250 running a 3x16x18.5 pitch Suzuki prop. I like running it at 4400rpm and 31 mph with 4 people and full fuel. Over 44 mph at WOT but I don’t run it long because of fuel burn.

Questions about buying a 228 Seafarer...

I‘ll share my experience, I had a 542 Campion for 11 years, built in British Columbia and a great boat. My family was growing and decided to look for a 228 Seafarer about 5 years ago. I do a lot of research, I mean a lot of research, drives my wife nuts. I went out on a limb and boat a 1999 228...

Fourstroke repower on 22 seafarer question

I have a 2012 250 Suzuki on my 1999 Seafarer and it has lots of power even with 6 people on board. With 4 people I cruise at 31 mph at 4400 rpm. It has an incredible hole shot with the variable valve timing and very quiet. As others have said, a 150hp would be ridiculously under powered for that...

    Cabin Pictures Please

I ended up replacing the box with Seafoam Starboard that covers the rigging from the transom under the helm on my new to me Seafarer. The original vinyl over plywood had rotted along the bottom over the years from water leaking from the windshield I believe. I also noticed some rot on the port...

    Looking at 228 or 258

I have the Suzuki main and 9.9 EFI and they work great on my Seafarer, lots of power and quiet, a great set of engines and yes there is the option to upgrade the 9.9 to 15 hp or 20 hp using the existing ECM.

    22 seafarer back splash gaurd

I for one can not understand the logic of a flip down door near floor level on any ocean boat, it’s just not safe. Just glass in a curved permanent wall connected to the transom where the cowling would never hit, lots of manufacturers do this. But maybe I‘m missing something with boat builders.

    228 Seafarer chalky rubrail

I didn’t realize how blue they really were until wiping with acetone, it really brings the colour out as others on this forum have mentioned. I originally thought they were blackish. Great advice from members here as always.
