I love my cabin boat. In rough water, rain, hot sun, etc. the hard top with enclosure is the way to go. I wash my rods down with fresh water and put them in the cabin on the way home. I live in south fla and fish the keys all year round.

The motors run to make sure they are retracted. It is normal.

Once you go 4 stroke, you will never want a 2 stroke again. Especially going from Johnson to Yamaha or Suzuki. I would expect 40% better fuel economy with a 4 stroke over your old Johnsons. I used it for my cabin hatch on my 24. Works great. I have the flat rubber with grooves style. 3/4 in wide maybe 3/8 thick. Compressed nicely.

Maybe a steel fastener under the glass is oozing out rust from moisture coming in the crack or from under the deck. When a screw rusts, sometimes it swells. May have created the crack due to swelling.

Rubber may have oozed out if motor was overheated. This is what is behind the cap. It will have a rubber doughnut around the neck of the zinc.

The slot on the right side between the sealer ring is the prime passage way. If it was blocked with sealer when the mechanic installed the o ring there, may stop the prime process.

That sounds like you may have a thermostat stuck open or a weak pressure release valve. When the therm is open, the p stream pressure goes down and so does the running temp. P stream is like a pinhole in the middle of a garden hose and the thermostat and poppet valve is like a spray nozzle...

Absolutely jealous. I went 70 miles offshore to only get to 165 ft of water on Fri. That is gulf water. On the Atlantic side, it drops to 100 ft at 5 miles. 10 miles is about 300 ft. At 30 miles you are in 1800 to 2400 ft. Gulf is so different. lol.

Epoxy is not a bad idea. Maybe a small silicone bead around the light would help. Ge makes great silicone. The white matches Grady color well. I’d run a small bead around and spray it with dawn and water to smooth it out and wipe off excess. I can post the details on how to make the silicone...

That is awesome. I’ve never fished on the west coast. Only Atlantic from South Carolina to keys. I fish sw fla gulf a few times a month. It is great to see the kids having fun.
