    OX66 250

My Marlin with 1998 OX250s gets 1.3 mpg at 30mph cruise when trimmed perfect. Plus the oil. The annual cost mentioned is real and no matter how much I pay attention something always seems to show up. Little things get a bandaid and batched up so as to not keep me off the water every other...

    Looking for GPS/Fishfinder for 208

Just installed the Garmin 94sv uhd with gt 54 transducer. Got it at west marine when giving triple points and on sale. The 94 will be great and all I need. The gt54 leaves a little to be desired but should be fine for our fishing activity. Transducer cable is short, so ext needed and the...

    weeds

follow up, we fished again today and weeds were still bad. I rigged 6 weedless small ballyoo with a 4 in rubber squid skirt over the beak. while they did not run as well as traditional rigged bally they ran ok, were essentially weedless and were the only baits to work. caught a king and mahi...

    Solar power

my bad as usual i was to focused on the charge part of the charge/maintain question. the boat stereo use/power consumption piqued my interest and when looking of that type of info i tend to go ask the sailboat folks. they seem to have an innate sense of what happens in and around their boats...

    weeds

Fished Sunday with the wife and had a very hard time with weeds. Small bunches all spread out. Not sure if we fished 15% of the time effectively due to weeds on the baits. Running rigged bally hoo with chugers or skirts. Saw some examples of weedless rigged bally, anyone have experience with...

    Solar power

Hate to tell you but if you want to charge batteries on the water with engines off, you will most likely have to tow a barge for the panels

    Solar power

Yup a maintainer is all you get. I have several 50 watt panels with a small charge controller epoxied to the back and wired with ring leads or alligator clips to maintain tractor batteries, generator batteries and the like at my farm when not there for extended periods of time. I have a set up...

    is this a good fit

Saw this on sale at west marine and get 3x points. fits size criteria for install and budget. would need cable extension as is only 15 ft. do not fish much over 250ft and usually under 150. seems like a good deal to me. but really would appreciate input

    Replacing batteries

If batteries are wired in a parallel bank, ie multiple batteries acting as one they should all be of the same voltage and capacity. Should one of a 2 bat bank set up go bad I often replace both and use the good battery in a single battery situation
