    long-haul tow Marlin 300

Funny, the 265 I bought a couple years ago started in FL and ended up in CA, then to WA where I bought it.

    Everett / Seattle marine surveyor

I launch out of Garabaldi or Ilwaco when we go out for tuna, salmon, bottom fish, etc. Usually go out of Newport for Halibut.

    Everett / Seattle marine surveyor

I used Western Boat and Trawler Marine Survey when I bought my 265 up in Sekui. I believe he is out of Port Angles. He was pretty thorough. https://scottheitmanmarinesurvey.com/

Yeah, Wix is owned by Mann-Hummel, another large OE supplier of parts.

    Oil change in water

Yeah, both the Mahle and Hengst cross reference to the wix 57145. About every major filter supplier has one for that application. Wix, fram, Denso, K&N, Mahle, Hengst, bosch, Purolator, AC Delco, etc.. Mahle and Hengst are a couple of the larger suppliers of parts to OE manufacturers.

    Oil change in water

I use that oil as well! For the Suzuki oil filter, I've found that if you look up a say a 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4L, its the same oil filter. I've used the Mahle # OC217/6 and Hengst # H97W01

    Fuel issue resolved -265 Express

Yeah, typically. But the aux gets most of the fuel since I haven't been able to put many miles on the main before it cuts out from the filters. The last run was about 30 miles on the main.

Also, this is only on the main tank. Haven't had any issues with the aux tank

    Fuel issue resolved -265 Express

Circling back to this. I'm sure I'll get some negative feedback for this, but it is a short term fix. I removed the screens from the pickup tubes and installed an inline filter just outside the tank where the fuel line goes into the tank. Makes it easy to see the debris and a lot easier to...

    265 Express

I took out the OP for some tuna fishing this last weekend on my boat. Was a nice ocean, but he still got to experience how well it does in some of the chop we had coming back in. But he also got to experience the kinda known issues on these, the quirkiness of being in following and quartering...

    265 Express

I used to have a 22ft North River Seahawk, but had been looking/researching 265s for 3-4 years before I finally decided to get one. Ride is definitely better than the NR, but takes some getting used to when out in the ocean. I don't use the trim tabs at all, I use the motor trim to correct any...

Launched out of Garibaldi on Tuesday and headed due West. Stopped around the 124.45 and dropped our gear in. Got a triple after about 15 minutes, trolled back through and nothing. Moved around a lot, but was scratch fishing all day. Ended up with 14 on the day. All on the troll, couldn't get...
