Not NJ but I'm in OBX for a while and caught a few decent Gaffers Monday. Ran out of Oregon Inlet and fished south towards Hateras.

    12v question

Yes, the starting battery is isolated with an ACR switch. The 36v to 12v stepdown in the link above to amazon is 30amp, that's probably not enough to be my only house source, the windlass would probably cycle my electronics which is annoying. My onboard charger is a Monster Marine "Ultimate...

    12v question

No, sorry if that wasn't clear. I have two 36v / 60AH batteries rigged parallel so that's 120AH dedicated to the trolling motor. I'm saying use 36v to 12v converter they sell on amazon https://a.co/d/06nYCLEj and use that to connect the TM bank to house. Just thinking I'll need a one way diod...

    12v question

I'm thinking about connecting my 36v trolling motor batteries to my 12v house for more capacity, anyone do this? The 36v / 60AH batteries are parallel so they'll add 360AH at 12v which should all but eliminate low voltage alarms when I'm not running. Right now the 36v batteries a're connected...

Last Saturday morning on the Shrewsbury river there were boats trolling right behind my brother's house. Ran up the Navasync, netted bunker, fished within site of the house all day, missed a bunch due to circles and caught 5 decent bass, 2 slots and the biggest at 36". Tomorrow I'm picking up my...

The guy that cut the plate for me talked me out of using 1/2” aluminum in favor of 3/8” and I’m glad he did. The only flex is in the pulpit itself and zero concerns about the integrity of the aluminum. PM me your address and I'll trace it on a piece of paper and mail it to you. I still...

What have you done to your Grady lately?

I repowered with new f250xb mechanical last summer. In a hurry at the time and didn't realize the new engine is Command Link so just swapped out the old gagues with a new CL5. Just finishing the dash panel and I'll add some pics later. Aside from that, I have a box full of small add-ons and...

Thanks for the comments and happy to answer any questions. After a couple seasons use I'm pleased overall and no regrets about choosing this installation option. After 2 years of use I'm honestly not sure if i could have used a shorter shaft but think it will be close. When I purchased the...

Would have liked to have gone to SRR but my SIL started turning green so glad we didn't. My brother is going to delay winterizing but with no Bluefin season this may have been my last fishing trip in NJ this year. Mine is in Ocean City MD so I won't winterize until Dec, usually get an...

    NJ fishing reports

We ran from the hook to the rocks both Sat and Sun and no bass. There were a lot of birds and other boats in search mode but no real concentrations or surface activity. Marked loads of bait and a lot of fish but couldn't make it happen. We stopped on one of the Highlands wrecks and caught a...

    NJ fishing reports

That's discouraging but thanks, we're still planning to go Sat and Sun and I'll post a report. I'm hearing there are a lot of smaller slot size bass in the Navasync and Shrewsbury rivers where we keep the boat and I'll bring some bait for Tog and Seabass if we can't find any action along the beach.

I ran my brother's regulator to the Bacardi at the end of Sept and went 2 for 4. The next week I ran with a friend on a big boat out of CT, started at the Dip in 65 degree water and got a nice Bigeye right away. Made it to the 100 square picking away on Albicore on the troll and just a big Mako...

My boat is in MD but I'll be running my brother's 28' Regulator this weekend. The boat is currently at Gateway right next to Bars and the Highlands bridge. He just finished building a new dock about 1/2 mile up the Shrewsbury from there, not sure why is still in the marina... We're all arriving...

Looks like a we may have a rare Sat/Sun weather window coming so let's hope it holds. Haven't decided which day yet but we'll be running out of the Highlands to either Bacardi or the Tripples, hopefully not both... Anyone else or intel?

Thanks for the report again, we fluke fished Rattlesnake to the Shrewsbury rocks on Saturday and Sunday and was wondering what all those boats were doing in the mud hole. Caught our limit of small sea bass and 5 and 6 keeper fluke to 21" both days. Crazy how many short fluke out there, threw...

    NJ fishing reports

Thanks for the report and bummer you didn't find them. One boat in our marina said he said he found them at 60 miles and seeing scattered reports from TT to the Tripples but that's a big area. We were thinking about making a run this weekend but it's going to blow Saturday and left over north...

Congrats and thanks, that's quite a haul. I'll be visiting this weekend and familiar with that area, but will try pressing closer to the rocks than usual. The Rattlesnake used to be the spot but for some reason it went dead a couple years ago. Any Stripers still around or Tunas on the...

    2004 Yamaha F225 For Sale

Hey KY Grady, I came across this old thread and wondering how much you got for your 04 F225? I have almost the same engine with about 600 hours, exhaust replaced, and good compression, still running strong but thinking about repowering. Bob

Jay, I'll send you a DM about mailing the template but it's really easy to make if you have a router. The template I made does not have mounting holes so you can just flip it over if installing to starboard but I'd recommend against it. It won't matter for operating at slow speed but it will...
