    Value of 1987 24' w/ bad engine

A friend is interested in buying an Offshore '87 with an I/O engine that needs replacing..the boat (hull, outdrive, etc,)is supposed to be in good shape with decent electronics and no trailer. I know putting a value on this will really depend upon the condition, but what would be an approximate...

    Which one? 232Gulfstream -vs- BW23Conquest -vs- Shamrock246

Rhangrea I'm a few yrs away from buying my next but but already doing research and considered the same boats as you mentioned. Another one you may want to compare with the Grady's is the Pursuit 2470 WA 1999+.

    Yes

Getting back to the "rocking" issue. I can attest to this having owned a 27 Albe which is very similar to the CC 28. Mine was one of the only boats sitting in the slip rocking when a small ripple of a wave came by, and forget about trying to be up on the tower in a 3-4' sea. Can't argue with...

    Scuppers and engine in water

just read this entire thread and excuse my ignorance but I just have one question for my own reference. The scuppers on the euro transom design seem to sit higher above the water line, is this a non issue on that design or does it still exist. Thanks

Gulf Stream ride versus Trophy Pro

FP, I personally consider the 23 to be a shorter version of the 25, be it a trophy, sailfish or dolphin. I think the hulls were the same just had different layouts. I would think the 25 may ride a tad better since the beams are about the same and it is 2 ft longer. Owned a sailfish that I...

    175s on a '93 Sailfish 252G?

GW, I had a pre SV2 87 Sailfish. Original power was Johnson 175's. I put on twin 97 carbed 175 Mercs and it performed just fine, plenty of power. I can't recall the exact #'s but I know we got just a bit above 1 mpg when it was fully loaded up.
