03 Yamaha 90 hp two stroke waterpump O-ring question.

Replacing the water pump on this engine. I have two replacement kits, both have an O-ring, 2 inches outside diameter. I do not see one upon removal of the old pump, nor do I see one looking at several pump replacements on YouTube. On some diagrams, I see one below the bottom plate, but I did not remove that. Stumped, any input appreciated.
Maybe same kit fits another engine, that requires an O-ring.

Yes, some kits are, as you wondered, "general" fit. As Skunk mentioned, look the diagrams - make sure you are looking at a diagram for YOUR serial number as sometimes there are changes made over the years.

Figured it out, it goes beneath the lower housing, which I did not replace. All back together and running yesterday. Thanks.
I find SIM's search engine difficult.
