I have a 2007 330 Express and need to do maintenance on the side-power bow thruster. What anodes and parts need to be replaced?
Is the Q Prop upgrade kit worth it or necessary?
Does anyone know what model came in the the 2007 330? Thanks!

I emailed Imtra for various issues with my thruster (OEM on '03 330 Express) and they were very responsive & helpful. I ended up sending my unit to them in Bedford MA for servicing and they did a great job.

I did the Q Prop upgrade -- I couldn't tell much difference to be honest, but I believe their specs and I figured it would be easier to get a replacement prop if I needed one. Come to think of it, I should probably buy a spare!

Aw, damn it!

I wish you had posted this last week. I would have loved to have started an April Fool's thread on THT for "help me pick the best prop for my bow thruster".

I have an 04 with the sidpower bow thruster. it has a Sleipner SP55 motor on it. I know this SP55 was superceded by a different motor at some point. My care program consists of changing the zinc on the prop every year and never ever ever activating it when the boat is out of the water. Mine has a fluid reservior which I check once a year but haven't had to fill it. someoone told me is lubrication for the gearbox but same person also said newer models don't have it?

I think they are made is some Scandanavian country and the motors are very robust. Mine was not working when I bought the boat but the motor is serviceable which you can't say about a lot of things these days. pulled the motor and Took it to the man-a few hundred later and I was back in business.

Got me thinking about mine. This is from my Vetus 4512D Bow Thruster Installation Manual: "The bow thruster tailpiece has long-term lubrication."

Maybe the change from sidepower to Vetus explains why I have the lube tank and you dont?

Never thought about my thruster. Probably full synthetic lube. As long as you don't chew a seal up with fishing line or shaft crud it will last a long time. Good thing too because you would have to pull the whole unit out top and bottom to check or change.

You'll need the model number of the thruster or take a shot at matching the photos. Zinc or Aluminum for saltwater, magnesium for freshwater. I think the zinc for salt is Al.
