first let me say hello i'm a new member I just purchased a 1986 197 tournament it has the 4cly ford 175 hp motor and merk outdrive i bought it off the original owner and it was kept in like new condition. I'm asking for any info about this model that you guys can give me. other than a short test run i know very little about it thanks in advance

Well, if the boat is in good shape like you say, you should have no problems at all. That 224 four banger (if that's what it is) is pretty easy to work on. As for the rest of the boat, you can go to "links' above, click on the Grady White logo and go to "owner resources". You can download a catalog and an owner's manual in a .pdf file and print it out.
