Just purchased a 1988 Seafarer 22G with a 1999 Evenrude 225 2 stroke. Got he boat and trailer for $4000. The teak wood either needs replaced with starboard or refinished. The bottom needs repainted and it needs new side curtain plastic. Boat seems solid and has a hard top. What have others done as far as upgrades on trim or seat cushions?

Tmyers,

Assuming you are you referring to 228G. Many of us have updated the look of our Seafarers.

It's good you have a hard top. Congrats!

I just posted my recent work, albeit I don't have a hard top. Hopefully many others will chime in!

I went pretty far with what I did to restore mine. 1984 model. $2800 purchase price.

Dont think that I will take mine that far but who knows. Yours looks awesome. I have a 2006 Lund Fisherman that I bought new so I am not in a hurry.

Lee,
Looks awesome! What did you use for the trim work? Painted word and doors or other?

Look at these 2 threads, that will shine the light on 80% of the work. Details on what I did and why are explained.

I did use Starboard for my dash panel.

Thanks!
