Don't think only HPDIs can't premix, OX66s too.

The modern motors in many ways are more complex that the carburetor days. All the complexity needs maintenance an adds more than can break.

I miss those days.

The air we breath is supposed to be cleaner though, just doing my part.

JIT, I've been premixing my OX66 for quite a while now. No problems and more importantly no worries. I hear the sound of a piston seizing or a connecting rod coming through the case at 4000 RPM is something you never forget.

Thanks, don't have to, engine runs great. To say premixing oil at 50:1 will clog injectors is just incorrect.

it does, they told us in training, so im just going with what they told me

the OX66 is actually 100:1 normally and 50:1 only at WOT 8)

Then why would Yamaha publish in the OX66 owner's manuals to use 50:1 premix during break-in and after long periods of storage?
