A local Grady has caught my eye and I am trying to determine exactly what it is. It is listed as a 1996 Grady Sailfish 25 Sport Bridge. I have been on the lookout for a 25, instead of the slightly newer 272, however thought the change (euro transom with the longer running surface) happened before 1996. The boat is an hour and a half away and I imagine will sell quick, but I am interested if it's possible it is a 1996 25 Sport Bridge.

Thanks!

It's the same. The '94 Sailfish was the only eurotransom model to retain the "252" designation. After that, they went to 272 and dropped the "Sport Bridge" as well. I believe the extended running surface came about for the '98 model year.

My understanding is the 272 had a euro transom, with a walk thru on the starboard side, the 25 sport bridge had no walk through and the motors on a bracket. This boat does not have the euro transom from what I can see and he states it is a 25 Sport Bridge. I assume he may have the year wrong, however seems honest with his responses.

Ok so I was close with my understanding. Hopefully I can get to see the boat soon and determine exactly what it is.

Transom, Tanks, condition of hatches, canvas, upholstery, hydraulic steering etc. .... think about all that stuff. Otherwise they are battlewagons.

Also would this boat have cored hull sides? Not a deal breaker as I've owned cored and non cored boats, just trying to get an idea of exactly what I'm looking at.
