2000 265 express ox66 4 blade prop

Anyone running 4 blade props? Very interested if they make a difference in rough water. I tend to get prop ventilation in the slop.

I've got 3 blade 19 Ms on my ox66 225s. Can't say I've ever had prop ventilation.

I run a 4 blade on my F225, great upgrade from 3 blade. Helps overcome the lack of mid range umph that the F225 lacks in.

I reached out to Ken at PropGods, he was very helpful and spot on in his recommendation of a prop. Might want to give him a call.

I don't see how prop ventilation would change if the prop were changed from 3 to 4 blades assuming of course that the diameters were the same. Your ventilation sounds like a trim issue, ether the tabs of the motors or both.

I can see a situation where the extra thrust that a 4 blader would have over a 3 blader at certain speeds could make a difference but only to the extent that is offers more 'push' as the hull rides ( breaks) the swells. So if your boat currently slows when it hits the swells, more oomph could help. The hull trim and angle of attack have a lot more to do with bow steer.

I just switched to a four blade on my f300. Huge difference. Mostly positive some negative. Totally changes how the boat rides. Ken at prop gods recommended

I told Ken that my motor sits a little low so naturally wanted something with stern lift. My other requirement was lower planning speed. Huge difference. The four blade really lifts the stern out of the water. The wake it produces it totally different. I was having a hard time staying on plane under 21 mph. Now I can plane easily at 17 mph. Mid range is better gets on plane quicker really better at every rpm.

Top speed is about the same. Two negatives, one is I now have a little bow steer until I get the boat trimmed properly didn't have that before. Second negative is a little prop chatter??? At idle speed there is some vibration that wasn't there before but can be somewhat alleviated by either trimming motor all the way down or trimming up.

Ken @ PropGods suggested a 3 blade for my 228. Possibly because I run in high altitude, but I would have guessed that calls even more for a 4 blade. Anyway happy with my 13.5 pitch Mercury Enertia hole shot and cruise performance.

I did not have to raise the scuppers the boat sat nice in the water with two guys still above the water line in the back when the dealer was showing me everything. It was only the 20 mile test run I went on with the dealer but it was at 35 mph burning about 16-17 gph. Before it was 35 mph at 25-26gph with the 225 four strokes.

Possibly he recommended the smaller 3 blade because the 200 Honda couldn't spin the 4 blade and give good performance. I would trust what he has recommended for your setup.

Agreed, Ken was awesome to work with, he sent me a few props to try out since I live so far away.

that's crazy! I can get mine to 46mph with the ox66s and its scary. No reason to take it over 40mph.

That fuel burn 17gph at 35mph is pretty crazy impressive. I guess overpowering has an advantage.

My boat is a 2000 265 express and at 3900-4000rpm I’m at 30 knots so 34 mph. With the old 225 Yamaha four strokes it would be at 4600-4800 rpm to run 30knots. If your thinking in repowering a 265 I would go twin Suzuki’s all the way.

I have 16x21.5 props and I love the boat at 38mph when it’s a bit rough out maybe 4’ chop and trim the boat up 50-60% on the motors and the boat just floats on top of that water.
