2000 Gulfstream - What is this please?

Hey all, just joined and figuring out my new 2000 Gulfstream. Previous owner “guesses” this is a lightning rod. 6” long, pointy, snugged with a wing nut and bolted through the hardtop just forward of the rocket launcher. Not convinced that’s what it is - and even less convinced it would succeed at that job. It’s coming off unless somebody here convinces me otherwise - your thoughts please. Might be a good shrimp skewer?

That's a gull sweep 'mast' (made by BIRD-B-GONE, I think). Gull sweep sits on top of the mast and the two 'sails' orbit around the center. I have one attached to a sandbag that I can remove when using the boat..

Thank you sir! I was worried if it was for lightning, I’d find it was tied into some surprise grounding network through the hardtop. This makes it easy. Great help in here once again.
