After a few years with an offshore center console made the decision to get a walk around for the northeast. Closed Thursday on a 272 sailfish and spent the weekend on it including running it 162 miles ~8hrs Friday with my dad for a nice Father’s Day trip. Looking forward to many more weekends like this on the boat.

My first Grady was a new 2000 272Sailfish. Loved that boat and ran her offshore for 12 years until I sold and moved up to a 330 Express. We were in a little recession at the time and I think i let her go for $38k. Killed me to do that but got a good deal on slightly used 330. Both great boats!

It was nice to meet you too! John was a pleasure to work with and the boat was incredibly well taken care of, I am hoping to keep it in the same shape he did

Congrats, how was the run home? Did you take the CC Canal?
The run home was great, lines off around 7:30am and in the slip I kept it at for the weekend around 4:30pm. Calm following seas/winds the whole way. Averaged about 22kts including the time in the canal which we didn’t have to slow down much for since we timed the current right. I didn’t get yelled at by the harbor master and was cruising around 17 through it. Stopped in sandwich for fuel put 90 gallons in, topped off the oil outside of the canal since the dock was busy and cruised home from there. I was shocked at how few boats were on stellwagen or just how few in general were on the water north of the canal. Worst part was I misjudged the chart I needed and it cut off at the inlet I was coming out of so we had a slow ride through fishers island sound until we were clear of all the reefs but besides that a great smooth day.
