Does any know what the transom of a 2000 Tournament 223 is cored with? Has anyone had issues with this model's transom? If so what should I look for? Thanks.

Swelling of transom especially around bang plate. Cracks along rub rail or well in front of engines. Get a look inside at transom. Swelling around bolts, cracking. If it looks good to you get a surveyor to check it out.

Thanks. Is it a wood core? Did Grady ever change to a composite core? If so, when?

It may be Greenwood - a better grade of plywood. It holds up better to getting wet. Not sure when GW went compost but that boat is way too early. Look for the swelling when its wet. That will tell you!

It's wood.... Get a surveyor and they will detect if you got or soon will have trouble.
