I'm looking at a used 2000 model Marlin with twin OX66 250's. The boat is in very good condition but I'm concerned because the engines have 1500 hours on them. Can some OX 66 owners tell me if they've put this many hours or more on their engines?

Had 2000 OX66 225s and they ran great. Just had to keep up with maintenance - clean 02 sensors, change filters, vst filters, low pressure pumps and a few other things. Had some shaking on one which turned out to be a bad O2 sensor even though it tested fine. If they haven't been replaced, they are overdue. I never used ethanol and we really never had a problem except for having to replace the counter-rotating lower unit. Not a bid deal but it made us turn around on a trip offshore. I have a 330 and the 30 is great. Trying to sell my 227 sailfish if you or anyone reading this knows of someone looking for a great boat. BTW - mileage wasn't bad for the ox66s. Loved that boat and engines - although they did smoke a little.
