My first post. Looking at a listing for a 2004 GW 226 Seafarer WA.225 Yamaha 4-stroke with 150 hours, Hardtop with full canvas, head with macerator, freshwater shower and sink, raw wash down, swim platform, hydraulic tabs, Ray c 80, radar, gps,sonar. Asking 22,500.

I am new to this and want input concerning price, offshore fishing, good new and bad news concerning this model. My useage will be both caual cruising and offshore fishing in Southern California. 2-4 people typically. Boat will be in slip full time.

If the price is correct, have her surveyed and if all is well, BUY IT!!
Its an outstanding boat and will suit your purpose well!
 
To get a feel for how good a price that is, go to boattraderonline and do a search for 2004 seafarers. You'll see that price is about 1/2 what others are asking for that model / year boat.

I have a 226 and I'm very happy with it. The best layout and ride you'll find on a walkaround that size. I also like the F225. Unbelievably quiet engine.
 
It is a great layout and a very nice boat for a 22'. The price seems low, hopefully someone is just trying to get rid of it cheap, not because there is something wrong with it. Since it is so cheap, I'd highly recommend a survey and to have the engine checked, for the huge amount you are saving it would be foolish not to. I owned a 22' Seafarer for 15 years before we moved up to a larger Grady, the 22' was a great boat.
 
If you are looking at the one on Boattrader, beware.

A number of these "ads" have popped up recently...in the last couple months I've seen an '05 228 for $25K, and an '05 208 for $20K. If you look closely, you will likely see the same ad somewhere else on Boat Trader, with a legitimate (higher) price.

Thanks to all for your input and especially parthery. I did a little more investigating and feel the deal is a scam. One of the reasons I asked for advice is I felt the price was way too low. I am fairly certain this is an ebay scam.
