The F250 is an awesome engine. When I repower it will be those again. Just too solid to move away from.

@twin yams What is the length of your center rigger? Looks like 12' maybe? It looks like about a 30 degree angle - do you find it gets in the way of casting from the rear deck?

I’m pretty sure it’s 12 foot. No problems casting as it’s pretty high up there. That angle mount was on the boat when I got it, I wish i had the 45 degree. Looks like the mounting holes will be different and I dont feel like making new holes. I will probably look into it a little deeper.

Perfect. Thanks for the information - that picture is the view I had been looking for as I get a center rigger off of the to do list and onto the done list.

You’re welcome. I think the 45 degree would look better, like matching (more so) the angles of the outriggers...just my ocd opinion. Lol

They are good for sure, but having the F250s for 16 full seasons without an issue (all reg maint done) says a lot to me.
I agree Fishtails!! Knock on wood, my 2007 250's have been great (with regular maintenance) for 16 years and almost 900 hours. Scared to post this. Don't want to jinx myself lol!!

Update:
Boat is getting Yamaha 300’s (dec) installed in February… I’m pumped.
Do you go to great Gunn? I have the dark gray 330 with 300 white mercs. Think we have waved to each other a few times. You anchor out over there? Unless I have the wrong person.

Yes sir, that’s me! I’ve admired your boat… wife loves it too. Your boat looks like it gets up nice with those Mercs. I’m hoping for a big improvement, my buddy just repowered with Yam 300,s and picked up 7 mph and a ton of midrange (our boats ran the same with 250’s), we shall see.

Small world! I had 225’s. I also gained about 7mph pretty much everywhere- cruise, WOT. She moves pretty good. It needs to, I come from Sayville and it’s a long ride. I go there 3-4 times a season. My brother-in-law lives on old neck creek off the forge river and he’s a regular at Gunn.

Definitely small world! We come out of Senix Creek so our ride is literally 5 mins, lol. All my buddies are out of Sayville/Oakdale, also a great area….More stuff to do over there with Fire Island but I love my fishing out of Moriches, we go offshore a handful of times a year. Come say hi this summer, my name is Mike.
