2006 Chase trim tab indicator

Hello everyone

I recently found that the port trim tab indicator is blinking suggesting no signal. About this time I also discovered rats were spending time in my boat. The trim tabs are working find. I suspect a bad wire but it could also be the sensor in the actuator or even the control module (i guess)

I am not sure how the wires can be inspected to see if there is a break. Do I need to pull the the actuator and pull the wires out with it? I am not sure where the indicator control module is but I suspect it is up high in the console so will require pulling the dashboard cover that houses the indicator and speedometer.

Any general suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here is Bennett's test procedure for the indicators

• Upper yellow LED flashes on port or starboard side: Indicates the EIC Display is not receiving a sensor signal. If the port upper yellow LED flashes, the fault is in the port (red) sensor or wires. A flashing yellow LED on the starboard side would indicate a fault on the starboard (green) sensor or wires. Switching the sensor connections on the EIC Relay Module will confirm the diagnostic code if the flashing LED switches sides. If the problem switched sides, check the suspected faulty actuator with an Ohm meter at the EIC sensor cable plug. The reading should be in the 220-260 Ohm range. If the sensor readings are good, check for faulty connections (corrosion or broken wires).

Bennett Trim tab indicator going haywire

Hi Guys: Took my boat to Fla to fish off of Brevard County. On day two my LED trim indicators started full blinking left then right repeatedly. Flashing is more like it going back and forth. The tabs are moving up and down and I stumbled upon how to reset it but I don't know exactly what i did...
