2009 Yamaha 250 water leaking into cowling/cooling line to nowhere

Had water leaking into the upper cowling and discovered this line had broken loose from a part that appears to be nothing more than a dead end (water does not flow through). Notice the bolt on the side, could this be a residual part from a different model year which is no longer used and Yamaha simply put a bolt to stop the water? My fix was to just clamp the hose and fish on! Sent the same question to Andy,

You did not tell us the horsepower, year or model number of your motor. Makes it difficult to diagnose. Most larger Yamaha four strokes have a fuel cooler via a waterline like that. Could be that waterline goes to your fuel cooler, but hard to tell given no other information.

my bad, 2009 250 Yamaha BXTR, BTW, could not find this part in the shop manual or Boats.net diagrams. Could this be where a pressure sensor for an analog speedometer might be mounted on older Yamahas?

I found a similiar dead end water hose on my 2012 Suzuki DF250 and traced it to the lower leg pitot pickup for the old style analog speed gauges. It was squirting saltwater under the cowling which rusted hose clamps and other brackets so I removed, powder coated and replaced a bunch of stuff and double plugged the hose. Took me a while to trace the source of the water under the cowling.

Problem solved (from the Hull Truth)
Now, from its inception in 2005, through 2014,
the 3.3L F250 had a special part,
specifically to allow installation of a water pressure sensor,
mounted below the bottom-most, starboard side, spark coil:
