Hi guys, I just purchased a 12' RIB with a 2010 F40. A great little outboard. A little buddy for the 208, for use on beach days and little trout fishing. Question... the Yamaha gauge has trim tilt, rpm, and hours used. It shows on the gauge face "symbols" for oil pressure and temp, which I can't get. Is there a different pig tail (wires) i can purchase to upgrade the gauge to show all. Cannot seem to find anything on line. Any thought would be appreciated. Cheers, trapper

If your Yamaha gauges are Command Link, they should be compatible with NMEA 2000. So if you add a Simrad IS35 (or use a compatible MDF), you SHOULD be able to read the engine temperature digitally. With my Honda, the oil pressure data is still iconic, so I can't get a numerical output in psi.

I don't know about engine hours. My digital gauges display trip elapsed time not engine hours but they are connected to a 2 stroke. I am also unsure if the gauge shows oil pressure or low oil pressure. You can tell by looking at the oil symbol when the gauge is in power up,( self test). The bar should show. If it goes out when the engine starts, that is telling you that oil pressure is OK. The original round digital displays are not Command Link
Let me know what you find out. I am curious.

Thanks guys, I think there is an update on the wiring harness (still checking) do not see an oil pressure sensor or temp sensor on the outboard. Guessing maybe that could be added to increase engine data. OOOps, there is a heat sensor because on initial see trial the alarm sounded but came from the side mount control. There is no reading showing on the gauge, apart from TT rpm's and engine hours. Will try and get more info from the yam dealership here.
