204c replacing carpet in cockpit or can i glass it ?

I have a 79 204c and the original brown carpet has to go.Is there an alternative to carpeting the floor and bulkhead ? Can I pull up the carpet then glass and some type of non skid,is it worth it? if carpet what type /thickness carpet to go with? need opinions

Carpet is cheap and can be easily replaced///but it is just carpet....marine stores should have several levels of boat or indoor/outdoor carpet....an upgrade would be the teak veneer or man-made teak veneer which stands up to abuse....those can be resin'd in or with the manufacturers adhesive. Looks a lot better....

Carpet

I changed mine in my 204 and got a pretty decent job. It took around 4 hours and cost around $50 for all the materials including the adhesive. That was in the early 80’s so I’m sure that the materials have gone up. The new carpet was still in acceptable condition 5 years later when I sold the boat.
