I'm looking at a 2004 205 tournament ..The hull looks decent no bottom paint , 2004 Yamaha 200 2 stroke.
But I noticed that the anchor and rear hatch between the stern seats have delaminated .
The deck over the gas tank feels soft .I open the deck hatches and it was wet.
How do you remove the tank? its seems forward of the deck plate.

Any advice? Seems like a nice boat for 15k boat motor and tandem axle trailer.
Is mould and water normal in battery wells? thanks

Get a survey. If ok and can be fixed why not. Every boat is going to have a few things to do to it.

Those screws along the deck are the screws to remove the panel for the gas tank. It seems this boat has been used a bit. I don't fully understand when you say the hatch between stern seats is delaminated. I guess I need to see the boats pieces and parts. Grady doesn't use a lot of cored stuff for everyday day hatch stuff. The panel over the tank is cored I do believe, but most top side hatches are moulded glass and gel coat.

If delamination is happening it's because the core is wet and the glass material is pulling away or maybe the wood is letting go? Either way, if the boat checks out after a survey, and you want the boat use these items as a way to negotiate a better price. Good luck.
