Hi guys,
I currently have a 1995 Tournament 192 that I really like with a '95 Johnson 200 2 stroke.
I did have a bunch of water come in the scuppers when my (not light) son sat in the back. I'm sure the scuppers are original. Need to find where to buy new ones. Put in forward gear and cleared it. I may put a 150 4 stroke on it later.
I asked several dealers about how they accounted for the extra weight of the Yammy 150 or 200 and knew the newer Gradys weighed more in the 192 and the 208 series.
A dealer in Charleston, South Carolina and one in Florida had two different answers. One said they moved the gas tank forward slightly to make the center of gravity more forward (makes sense to me..), and the other said Grady added weight forward. I couldn't get an answer whether this was in thicker glass or maybe some of the top-side components.
For example the '94 brochure shows the 192 @ 2075 lbs w/o engine and the same thru to 2003 when they stopped producing the 192.
Now the new ones are 2475 lbs for the 192.
That's a Huge 400 lbs increase for the same size boat!
For comparison the 208 went from 2650 (2006) to 2900 lbs in 2008 = 250 lbs increase....
