Hi all, just a very quick question that hopefully will be easy to answer.
I have recently taken ownership of a 2003 model 208 with an F200 Yamaha - after a very long search and wait for it to arrive in Adelaide, South Australia, all the way from North Carolina, some 16000 km away!
The boat itself has been worth the wait and expense, and has already proven itself very capable in our gulf waters where we routinely tend to get short chop of 3-4 feet. It's also turned some heads at the boat ramp as being a bit different.
My query is related to the screws that hold in the gauge on the fuel tank. I only have four there, and there's a hole for the fifth, so I assume that I'm just missing one, as fuel leaks out when the tank is more than half full. OR is there something different that goes there - like a breather for the fuel tank? Hopefully the picture will clear up anything that's not clear from my description.
thanks for any help, cheers Fizzer

You are definitely missing a screw. It's a standard SAE 5 bolt pattern. The next trick is tracking down the right stainless bolt, which I believe is an Imperial size (though I can't recall what size it is at the moment...)

Great thanks for the reply Ono, maybe I'll fish around the bottom of the boat with a magnet and see if I can locate the missing screw, cheers fizzer

If it was a good grade of stainless, a magnet isn't going to help:)

It is also possible that the bolt broke off, either when being removed or installed.
You probably want to replace the gasket and also clean up the flange too. Be careful, it is easy to over tighten the bolts and deform the flange.
You will need to have the tank half full or less to avoide fuel spilling out when you undo the sender.
