Looking for some input on 222 Fisherman vs 225 Tournament. I live in Minnesota and fish the bigger lakes. My Father in law has the 225 and it's a great ride. Would the 222 be close as or the same ride? Also It's not always that warm here so would I be making the wrong choice going to a CC. I have a 2102WA Sea swirl now and I can't even put in words vs the 225.

Walleye Bill this one is in my wheel house. I have owned both in the past two years. A 2007 222 Fisherman and a 2006 225 Tournament both with Yamaha F250s. The 225 Tournament rides better. It is the same hull but the 225 has a closed transom and the motor is on a bracket. It changes the attitude of the boat and I think the gas tank is more forward than in the 222. The 222 is a good ride but the 225 is better. I like the closed transom on the 225 as well. I never liked the motor well/door on the 222. If you troll the motor being tucked in it is nice but I don't have an issue trolling out of the 225. Another thing to consider is the full enclosure on the 225 with the bimini top. You can get completely closed in in the fall/winter when its cold. Bottom line I would get the 225 hands down. More storage, better ride, better enclosure. 8)

Maybe you should sea trial a 226 or 228....with a hardtop for those cool/cold days? If not I vote the 225 as I had a 192. I and my family appreciated the cover of the dual console. We love our 228.
