228 Freshwater Washdown Install

Hi All,

I was hoping that someone could advise me on installing a freshwater washdown tank for my 1992 228 Seafarer.

I am trying to find out if anyone has had great success in finding a suitable location for the tank. I was hoping to avoid putting it in the cabin and wondering if there was room in the bilge.

The tank fits nicely behind the gas tank in the smaller compartment area in the bilge. This is accessed from the square deck hatch with the all those screws. You will need GE silicone II almond caulk to replace the seal on the lid. Good luck. We primarily use the freshwater when we swim and snorkle in the sea to rinse our hair and face.
